THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN DREAM

A documentary and research project about the homes, neighbourhoods and communities we create for the future.

What is Reimagining the Great Australian Dream?

The Great Australian Dream is woven into our national identity along with Vegemite, Koalas, Uluru, Holden, Warnie and Neighbours. For generations it’s been symbolised by owning your own home, a quarter-acre block, a Hills Hoist in the yard and kids riding bikes and playing cricket in the street.

But the Dream has always been more than bricks and mortar. For many Australians, home ownership represents security, stability, accomplishment, and a sense of identity and belonging.

Reimagining the Great Australian Dream is a research and community engagement project by the Dennis Family Corporation exploring how the Dream can evolve. With no single solution to today’s housing challenges, the initiative looks at how new homes and neighbourhoods can better reflect the lifestyles and economic realities of current and future generations. We’re seeking the input of Australians to Reimage the Great Australian Dream that is a good fit for now and into the future.

Get involved and help shape a Reimagined Great Australian Dream.
